It’s the scariest time of the year!
September has begun, and with it the slew of halloween decorations lining the shelves of stores even before the first day of fall.
Since the pandemic started, Halloween has looked different, but that doesn’t have to mean less fun. Here are 3 pandemic-approved Halloween ideas to keep the spooky season vibes coming.
- Pumpkin Spice…everything

Nothing says fall like the smell of pumpkin spice coffee brewing. Although some brands take the flavor a bit too far, the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s (PSL) from Starbucks are always a fall classic.
If you don’t wish to have the coffee made for you, Starbucks sells its Pumpkin Spice coffee grounds in nearly all grocery stores.
For an extra bit of sun see how many odd items are labeled “Pumpkin Spice Flavored” and try them out. You may either find your new favorite fall treat, or the next disgusting trick.
2. Halloween Movie Nights

Snuggle up with your pumpkin spice latte and favorite warm blanket to enjoy a classic Halloween movie.
If you’re looking for a kid-friendly, or not-so-scary movie try Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloweentown, Twitches, and Hocus Pocus which are solid fan favorites.
If you’re a big fan of being scared out of your mind you may want to go for Sinister, The Conjuring universe, or Paranormal Activity.
3. Costume Making

For the more creative individuals among us, try a new skill this fall!
Go to your local Walmart, Joann’s, or Michael’s and find a DIY pattern for a costume. While it may not turn out perfect, it is still a fun way to learn to sew. YouTube and Google are your best friends while learning how to operate that old sewing machine in the garage.
